Working with STG2 puts a powerhouse team in your corner. Company founder and President, Amy Babcock brings more than 20 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing. She began her career as an apprentice mold maker and became a New York State certified journeyman while attending the Rochester Institute of Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology program. After six years of hands on experience building plastic injection molds for various automotive, consumer and medical device companies, Amy advanced into the engineering and design group where she designed production tooling and contributed to product design and development teams. Amy was then promoted to engineering sales consultant. As a sales consultant, she managed the New York State territory for a global company headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. She was responsible for double-digit sales growth in a multi-million dollar territory, trained state-wide distribution teams, trained national and international peers on key account management and relationship building in sales, facilitated client education, and participated in strategic development of marketing and advertising campaigns and sales tools before founding STG2 in 1998.
Amy possesses an extraordinary combination of technical knowledge, creativity, and business acumen. With marketing savvy, Amy understands what it takes to communicate complex ideas, simply and powerfully. With engineering discipline, she knows the value of using the minimum resources necessary to accomplish tasks and achieve goals.
As part of Amy's vision for a healthy planet, she has focused her business on a select, targeted group of industries, including clean fossil fuels, fuel cell, renewable and alternative energy. This focus on energy issues is grounded in her passionate belief that building a sustainable energy future is the key to economic growth, environmental sustainability, and a secure future. That vision, coupled with her creative talent and technical expertise has gained STG2 industry recognition, business accomplishments, national awards, and an invitation to attend the Clinton Global Initiative. Amy has an established reputation as a communications resource among top Federal Government (DOE) officials, NYS Government officials, National Associations, Industry and Academic Leaders, National Labs, and Energy Industry Entrepreneurs.
